Commercial Blackout Curtain Fabric for Hotels
True commercial blackout fabric means 0% light transmission: not 97%, not 99.5%. Any measurable light transmission registers as a visible glow along the track gap or header at dawn, and guests notice it before they notice anything else in the room.
AGF-BL-01 is a 290 GSM plain weave base fabric with white flocked acrylic backing, achieving 0% light transmission and 72% light reflection. The white backing is critical for GCC markets: it reflects incoming solar radiation back through the glass, reducing the thermal load on the room and lowering cooling costs. This is the construction used across commercial hospitality projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
The fabric is certified to M1 (French fire standard NF P 92-503), IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 7, EN 13773, and BS 5867 Part 2. M1 is the standard required by most major international hotel brands operating in the GCC, including Marriott and Hilton brand compliance specifications. Original laboratory certificates are provided with every shipment.
The fabric is 100% polyester face with white acrylic backing. Polyester is dimensionally stable under humidity, resistant to UV degradation, and compatible with FR treatment processes. Lightfastness is Class 5 to ISO 105-B02, sufficient for most exposures, with Class 6 available on request for south and west-facing rooms in high-solar-gain climates. Breaking strength exceeds Class 5 contract requirements in both warp and weft directions. The standard supply width is 140 cm; wide-width options at 280–300 cm are available on indent orders of 3,000 m or more.
